One of the priority directions of activity of Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeial Center for Quality of Medicines (USPhCQM) is the development of modern standardization methods of the herbal drugs (HDs) and herbal medicinal products (HMPs). For this direction is responsible Department «Experimental support the elaboration of monographs on herbal drugs».
The main task of the department is the experimental support of the scientific direction " Herbal drugs and herbal drug preparations" of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine, development and improvement of standardization methods for the quality HMPs.
In accordance with the direction of activity, the department performs the following:
• carries out research and analytical works on the development of draft monographs on Herbal drugs and Herbal drug preparations (HDPs) for inclusion in the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine;
• carries out work on validation of methods of analysis of the HMPs introduced into analytical normative documentation, monographs and general articles of HDs;
• carries out work on groundwork of material for the certification of reference standards of plant origin in the case of order from manufacturers or when included in national monographs / national parts to monographs on HDs or HDPs of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine;
• carries out work on attestation of the pharmacopoeial reference standards of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine of plant origin.
