The European Pharmacopoeia Commission (EPC) has recently included the Egyptian Drug Authority as an observer. This inclusion reflects the growing influence and dynamic nature of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.), which now boasts 33 global observers, alongside its 39 European member countries and the European Union as signatory parties.

Being an observer, the Egyptian Drug Authority gains the opportunity to engage in the EPC's scientific endeavours and various initiatives of the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM). This role provides them access to EDQM's extensive expertise in medicinal products for both human and veterinary use. It also opens avenues for interaction with experts from European and international regulatory and inspection bodies. Furthermore, the Egyptian authorities will participate in establishing international quality standards for medicines and analysis methods.
