On August 14th and 20th, the WHO hosted webinars on the revised WHO Good Practices for Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratories (GPPQCL), tailored specifically for professionals in national quality control laboratories, commercial pharmaceutical laboratories, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
These sessions provided an in-depth exploration of significant changes in the guidelines, followed by a comprehensive Q&A segment to address any questions from quality control laboratories on how to successfully implement the new requirements.
A key highlight of these webinars was that experts who played a pivotal role in developing the revised GPPQCL guidelines were invited as speakers and/or panelists, including Natalia VOLOVYK, Deputy Director for Quality, and Dmytro LEONTIEV, Deputy Director for Science at the Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeia Center for Quality of Medicines. This provided participants with the unique opportunity to gain insights directly from those who contributed to the guideline revisions.
SPEAKERS:
DAY 1: August 14th, 2024
for AFRO and AMRO/PAHO regions
DAY 2: August 20th, 2024,
for WPRO, SEARO, EURO and EMRO regions
The response to these webinars was overwhelming, with over 600 participants eager to learn about the updated guidelines and their implications for pharmaceutical quality control. Among the various topics discussed, Reference Substances and Measurement Uncertainty stood out, generating significant interest and numerous insightful questions from the audience that were addressed both live and in writing throughout the sessions.
The feedback from attendees has been invaluable and will play a crucial role in shaping future training materials. We extend our deepest gratitude to the WHO for inviting experts from the Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeial Center for Quality of Medicines to contribute to the revision and discussion of these guidelines, and to all the participants who helped make these events a resounding success.
